Our Jeudis are convivial and scholarly gatherings that bring together research, creativity, and debate. Usually held on Thursdays - either online, in-person, or hybrid - they provide a space for BADS members and interested guests to exchange ideas and enjoy conversation about decadence.
At their heart, the Jeudis are devoted to exploring the many facets of decadence: literary, artistic, political, and cultural. Recent events have examined Wilde’s continuing relevance, considered decadence in the context of contemporary culture wars, revisited Annie Horniman’s theatrical and occult experiments, and celebrated decadent cinema through rare screenings.
Always free and open to all with an interest, Jeudis are announced via our mailing list - an open invitation to join us in thinking, discussing, and celebrating decadence in its many guises.
