Book Group

BADS Book Group

The next meeting of the BADS book group will be on 17 May 2024 at 18.00-19.00 (GMT). We apologize for any inconvenience caused by a scheduling mishap which prevented our March and April meetings from occurring, and we have pushed back the Machen reading to May as a result.

The group meets virtually to discuss a selected piece of decadent literature in an informal, collegial environment. Graduate students working in decadence may be particularly interested, but all are welcome!

Our next session will be on Arthur Machen's The Hill of Dreams (1907), known as ‘the most decadent book in all of English literature’ (Cazamian, 1923). Jessica Gossling (Goldsmiths) will be offering a short introduction to the text to start off the meeting.

If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please contact our Student Member, Conner Moore.
